10 Lessons Jeremy Lin Can Teach Us Before We Go To Work Monday Morning
The Jeremy Lin story is incredibly popular because we can all see a little bit of ourselves in this man’s struggles and now successes.
What can all of us learn from this young man — and how can we apply these same lessons to our own lives when we go back to work on Monday morning?
1. Believe in yourself when no one else does.
2. Seize the opportunity when it comes up.
3. Your family will always be there for you, so be there for them.
4. Find the system that works for your style.
5. Don’t overlook talent that might exist around you today on your team.
6. People will love you for being an original, not trying to be someone else.
7. Stay humble.
8. When you make others around you look good, they will love you forever.
9. Never forget about the importance of luck or fate in life.
10. Work your butt off.

Why Jeremy Lin Is Important
If you haven’t heard about Jeremy Lin yet, just turn on the TV, or if you’re in New York, put your head out a window, because there’s a very good chance that someone’s talking about him right now.
He just happened to kick Kobe’s ass earlier. How awesome is that?
Congrats, everyone.

Just because a match is long, it does not necessarily follow that the quality has to be high. But yesterday’s final was full of pulsating points…. What will linger in the mind is the courage and the commitment of these two men. They are the masters of the anti-choke — that rare and admirable ability to strike the most penetrating shots when on the verge of defeat.
The best time to be a tennis fan (:
Marcos Baghdatis breaking four rackets. Sometimes when the stress becomes unbearable you really just have to let it all out. I’d like to try this one of these days. Hee. ((:
Did Manny Pacquiao just become villain?
@rafeeboogs for Grantland. Last thing on the Pacquiao - Marquez 3 fight, ever. I AM MOVING ON. Lol!
Pacquiao v. Marquez 3.
I brought my rosary out and started praying by Round 5. ): Not just for him but more for the thousands of Filipinos whose hearts rejoice and whose hopes are lifted every time he wins. But Marquez really came prepared. He fought pretty damn well. It wasn’t a proud moment when they called Pacquiao’s name, even he knows it. I still won’t give it to Marquez but that 116-112 card was definitely not a reflection of what happened on the ring.
The Power of Positive Thinking.
“I guess it just clicked in my head,” Djokovic said.
That he could beat these guys.
“I was always trying to wait for their mistakes and not having that positive attitude and believing I could win,” Djokovic said. “This has changed and U.S. Open 2010 was one of the turning points in my career, definitely.”
“In big matches, the winner is decided by small margins, a couple points,” Djokovic explained. “I guess the winner is the one who believes in victory more.”
I love him so much. He wore an FDNY cap coming to the game and then changed back to it after he won. Such kindness. He deserves all that is happening to him. He’s worked so hard. And he’s remained humble despite all his successes. ONLY THE SIXTH MAN TO WIN 3 SLAMS IN ONE SEASON. How amazing is that? (:
My parents were lucky enough to watch the games live and meet the Azkals in person when they played in Myanmar. Although not really big football fans, they were soon drawn by the hype and were very excited to cheer for the Philippines. My Mom even changed her profile picture from one with my daddy to one with Angel Guirado Aldeguer, the new guy who scored two goals to seal their win against Bangladesh. Haha.
I can cry like Roger, it’s just a shame I can’t play like him. -Andy Murray
It was heartbreaking watching him go against the best there ever was ‘you know his name’. But I endured every minute until he finally broke down to tears. I still love you Andrew Murray. Even if you will never get to read this, haha. d:
