Pacquiao v. Marquez 3.
I brought my rosary out and started praying by Round 5. ): Not just for him but more for the thousands of Filipinos whose hearts rejoice and whose hopes are lifted every time he wins. But Marquez really came prepared. He fought pretty damn well. It wasn’t a proud moment when they called Pacquiao’s name, even he knows it. I still won’t give it to Marquez but that 116-112 card was definitely not a reflection of what happened on the ring.

Three days and we don’t even have a decent pic. Haha. Sometimes, I wonder why I’m still here doing this but when today they asked themselves the same question and couldn’t settle for a logical answer, I’ve figured there really is Someone high up there who makes the call. It might be too early to declare that this is how I’d like my entire life spent but while at it, I’d like to think of them. Those who continue, —unwavering, despite all the rewards leaving may bring— to serve the sick, the poor, the underprivileged in this country, I know they will always inspire me.

Cafe Juanita, West Capitol Drive. Today’s pick me upper - dinner with Ateneans from work. Dinners without agenda are the most awesome. People end up just really enjoying the food and having a genuinely good time. We went full meal from appetizer to desert and everything was pretty good. Thank you Sir Bobby, for the dinner treat and the Ateneo loot.
Caught it with Sheryl tonight. Entertaining, smart and sad. I’m noting down some of the themes in my reflection. Some of them, weird. Dunno. Maybe its just me. Haha.
- Exploitation of the poor through “art” - that they think they have to make that kind of movie to be recognized, that Eugene thinks it was the way to win an award.
- Dissociation of the rich from the reality of poverty - the scene were the filmmakers posed for pics with the shanties in the slums as background, acting as if Payatas was a tourist attraction. HOMAYGOD. spell insensitive.
- Oppression, not as the deprivation of resources but as the denial of possibilities - the scene where the poor kids were asked if they’re okay with being fed with noodles everyday and they kept saying yes and yes and yes. they don’t know there are other kinds of food.):
